Margetta Wins 2015 St. Francis Grand Prix

MARGETTA WINS F1
Stops Fitzlaff's Winning Streak

What is the bigger story: Dan Margetta winning an ISF event (he hasn't won many oin his career) or that Mike Fitzlaff's F1 winning streak is over?
Over the last three ISF seasons Mike Fitzlaff has entered 14 F1 events of the 16 scheduled. He won the first 13 of the events he entered in a row. Dan Margetta became the first driver to beat Fitzlaff in an event he has entered since 2013! Margetta's participation in ISF events has shrunk over the years, and with it chances to improve his victory total, however he was more than a match for the defending champion on this night.
Congratulations to Margetta and to Fitzlaff for giving a fantastic race performance this night, and Fitzlaff for providing us with a moment of history over the last three seasons with an amazing feat!

2015 Nacho Cheese It's My Cheese Grand Prix

Fitzlaff Wins 13th Consecutive F1 Race

Mike Fitzlaff is no doubt a fantastic racer. What he has done over the last two seasons is nothing short of amazing. He has entered 13 of 16 races and won all 13. No driver has won that many races in two ISF seasons in F1 before and he is fast approaching the career all time wins list. What you have seen is something special to witness so enjoy it because who knows when something like this will happen again.
While Fitzlaff has continued his streak, another rivalry is heating up as the GTP teammates of Mike Lack and John Wiedemann have split the opening two races. The GTP season is going to be a barn burner of title fight.

Option Tire to Stay in 2016

F1 Option Tire To Stay
by Steve Ratchett

The ISF Technical Working Group voted on Thursday to keep the controversial option tire rule in the F1 division for 2016.

Drivers will again need to change tires within one minute of the halfway point of all heat races and the final.

"There were passionate people for and against the issue and it turns out that drivers were split 50-50 on the issue," explained ISF Commissioner Everet Kamikawa. "The one thing everyone seems to agree on is that it made a huge talking point during the season and it did factor inn the outcome of several races. We decided to keep it for 2016 because the F1 division is based on Formula One and since they have an option tire rule, we thought we would try it for another year.

There is one possible change to the rule. The tire committee is experimenting to see if the current stock tires can be replaced with so called "black cat" tires like those formerly used in the ISF.

The committee would look into how the tires can be marked with grooves or painted sidewalls, if there is a way to make it so all the tires appear to be of the same construction with no defects, and if there is a big enough difference in speed between the "black cats" and current PVT-01 tires. A decision on this issue is expected before the first race, The Rapids Invitational, in September.
