Joe Heist Wins 2019 Quarry Heights GP

"Carnage" Conquers Quarry Heights
Joe Heist Wins First Career F1 Race
Wiedemann Wins GTP

Joe Heist excitedly talked about hi. s switch from the Williams F1 team to Jordan Mugen Honda before the race. Talking about the history of the engine and how fast it was. He also explained why his team shaved tires and how to  get double the life from them in a race. Even though he was giving away secrets, no one in the field could keep up with him and that led to his first career win in the ISF F1 division at the ISF debut of Quarry Heights Raceway. Heist advanced from the semi final with a win over heat winners
Pete Dorn and Matt Hayek to take on John Wiedemann and pole sitter Mike Lack.
Heist led away from the line then got bit by the excitement bug and had a couple of forced errors. Lack used his pace to take advantage and build a big lead. Then things got a bit side tracked. Lack had a big crash and Wiedemann retired. Heist set several fast laps to make up the laps needed to overtake Lack and take the win.

The GTP race was a tighter affair as the field was closely bunched in qualifying and the heat races. Matt Hayek, and Mike Kristof took the heat wins to face Heist and and Widemann in the semi final. Hayek's car developed engine problems and forced him to drop out. The final saw pole sitter Ev Kamikawa take the early lead but Widemann kept on his tail. after the halfway mark Wiedemann pulled ahead to stay. Kristof set the fastest lap on his way to a second place finish. Kamikawa third and Heist fourth.
